J B (Jim) Clements joined the Club in the mid 1920s. He was a successful oarsman over a number of years, winning races in Maiden, Junior and Senior classes of rowing. In the early 1930’s he was on three occasions selected in the Victorian King’s Cup Squad.
During World War II, he served in an Artillery Regiment with the Australian Imperial Forces.
Prior to his death, business commitments made it somewhat difficult to attend the Clubhouse regularly, but he was at all times interested in the Club’s progress and up to date with Club affairs.
