The Story of Victorian Rowing
Published Wed 21 Oct 2026
Rowing Victoria has published a new book on it's history which is available from their office. Whilst it is not a full history given the size of the book, it does provide interesting perspectives and trends on rowing in Victoria. Further it provides the context in which Mercantile grew and thrived. One of the interesting asides is that no other club in Victoria has had such a long period of being a senior club in the State as Mercantile. It commenced with our first senior championship in 1895 and has continued to this day. Club member Andrew Guerin is a co-author.
