Mercantile has a world class team of coaches who are there to help you achieve your athletic goals and further your rowing journey.
Performance structure
The performance structure at Mercantile is as follows.
Performance Director
The Performance Director has overall responsibility of the performance elements of the Club and is a member of the Club's Executive Committee. The Head Coach reports to this person.
Rowing Director
A distinguished coach is appointed to provide our performance team with advice and feedback.
Head Coach
The Head Coach is responsible for the delivery of the performance coaching at the Club both personally and through his/her coaching team. The performance coaching team report to the Head Coach.
Development Coaches
The club employs two full time development coaches who look after the development of our underage rowers, specifically the under 19 and under 21 teams.
Other performance coaches
Other coaches are engaged from time to time to the performance team.
Club and Junior rowing structure
The club and junior rowing area is run by the Club Captain using volunteer coaches with the appropriate skills to assist our members. The Club Captain has the responsibility for this area.
Master rowing
The masters area is self administered under the leadership of one or more of that squad.
